Journalist have to kow tow to the ownership/control and agenda setting of the organization including the stakeholders, usually the shareholders and the journalist is caught in a never-ending tug-o-war. Half the time, we know what the news is, we generate it and then cannot get it published because the EDITOR IN CHIEF whoever he or she may be, says "no", or it will not suit the advertiser. That is prostitution and I am not a prostitute...nor are you.

I hope to meet my counterparts from across the Caribbean. I am also hopeful that this association will act as a voice for journalists and speak out about issues affecting the noble profession.

About Me:

I am in final year at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies, where I am on course to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media and Communication in May 2008.
